Los Angeles Ruby Street Korean Wedding

Jean and Andrew’s wedding at The Ruby Street in Los Angeles was such a great mixture of fun people, amazing traditions, and eclectic wedding decor. The venue boasts neon signs, geometric shaped mirrors, and hip architecture, making it the perfect backdrop for these two artists. Jean and Andrew were down for anything, making them our ideal wedding clients. From double exposures to walking down alleys, the couple and wedding party were a real treat to photograph!

And then came the Korean ceremony! Complete with date throwing (for the number of children you’ll have) to a piggyback ride around cocktail hour, the Korean ceremony was such a great bridge between the beginning of the day and the reception!

We love capturing it all. Weddings are definitely about amazing decor and bridesmaids’ bouquets and the couple. But we also like to get the things our couples won’t likely see. Like the valet escorting guests, the chefs preparing the meals, and the staff relocating chairs to the reception after the ceremony. And an open and eclectic venue like The Ruby Street perfectly allows for those spontaneous captures!

And what makes this wedding truly special is where it came from. Andrew’s sister, Lisa, and her husband Jae are good friends of ours. It always gets us excited when weddings come from personal referrals. Not only is it wonderful to see familiar faces at the wedding, but also to know that your friends, family, and couples love your work and want to pass that on to others is so heartwarming!
