Lindsay and Adrian’s wedding has got to be one of the most uniques weddings I’ve shot to date. The couple not only hosted friends and family in the ALPS (!) but their artistic and eclectic style made for some amazing special touches on their nuptials. The couple loves blue, royal blue. And their attire was so fitting for this favorite color. I loved the way they coordinated! Lindsay brought fabrics and decor from the states for their reception, creating such a diverse tablescape that I absolutely loved!
I left of yesterday’s post with their Civil Ceremony, which took place just outside of Zurich. It was sunny and warm and the perfect backdrop for the couple to officially say, “I Do.” After the luncheon friends and family piled onto a coach bus to be escorted into the Alps to Kandersteg for the wedding. At this altitude, the weather didn’t hold out for their wedding day, but instead rained relentlessly. This is such a testament to the amazing couples I get to work with. This didn’t phase them a bit. Thankfully both the ceremony and reception were planned at indoor venues. And once the ceremony commenced we began taking group photos. Lindsay actually stationed someone at the window to monitor the weather so she could get a thumbs up as soon as it let up and we could go outside. While it got lighter, it never fully cleared, but the couple knew the importance of natural light, of the backdrop of the glacier (!!) and mountains, and decided to make a go of it anyway. Sure other guests may not have been so enthusiastic about going out into the mist, but the couple want to do what was best for them on their wedding day. I loved it! And I think the rain in general made for some amazing photos. Guests arriving for the ceremony, scurrying around. It provided such a great opportunity to get some great movement and energy into their photos. I loved every moment of it.
And how could you not love absolutely every single moment documenting Lindsay and Adrian? These two ooze love. They just can’t help it. They are so affectionate with each other, I began to question whether they were just playing it up for the camera. But no, I came to realize, that’s just how they are. They really are just a perfect match for one another.
The night commenced at a lodge on the outside of town where tear jerker toasts, lots of champaign, and dancing went well into the night. Lindsay and Adrian, I really don’t know how to thank you for taking me to Europe with you! That is a sentence I am so grateful to be able to write. Love you both so much. You were nothing short of perfection to photograph. Enjoy!
