I first met Nikki and Arthur a year ago when Nikki was in Angie and Jerry’s Oak Canyon Nature Center wedding. And so I was thrilled when I heard from Nikki about her own wedding photography later on in the year. I remember their initial client meeting as more of a conversation between friends as we talked about what they wanted for their wedding. It was so great to be in on the process so early, even being able to recommend a grand exit with sparkers and a few locations for them to look at. Being raised by a mom from the south, Nikki was keen on finding a venue that reflected her southern roots and the Historic George Key Ranch in Fullerton didn’t disappoint. With it’s historic home and surrounding landscaping, I felt like I was back in the south since I was just in North Carolina the weekend before.
Photographing Nikki and Arthur is always something special for me. After their engagement session, I knew I wasn’t going to have to work very hard to coax the love out of this couple. Arthur, while quiet sometimes, gently leads Nikki into poses that are just drool worthy to photograph. His quiet and calm demeanor is perfect for Nikki’s meek and humble attitude. They aren’t the opposites attract kind of couple, but more two halves of a pretzel (yup I know I just compared them to a pretzel) woven together. They perfectly compliment each other, moving and laughing and talking with each other effortlessly.
And if that wasn’t enough, you know I love a good wedding party. Nikki’s entourage has known her since the junior high and they cracked me up all day long. Praying for Nikki and getting her In n’ Out Burger, these ladies were the perfect crew to keep the celebration going all day long. And over on the guy’s side, Arthur’s contingency of gentlemen were up for anything. I loved that they all put their hands in for one last “go team” just before the ceremony began. Fun all around. Arthur and Nikki, you two are just great. There is no other way to put it. Love photographing you. And love spending time with you even more. Enjoy!
